Dr. Fatima Parker-Allie is visiting us at the UiO Natural History Museum and the GBIF Norway node from February to June 2026. Fatima is the GBIF Node Manager for South Africa, the regional representative for GBIF nodes in Africa, and the Deputy Director for biodiversity informatics at the South African National Biodiversity Institute (SANBI). Her guest researcher visit is part of the joint BioDATA Advanced education program, including student exchange and courses in South Africa and Norway.

Dr. Martin Westgate visited us for one week in May 2026 as part of his Churchill Fellowship, focusing on biodiversity data quality and challenges in biodiversity informatics. Martin is a team leader at the Atlas of Living Australia (ALA) and a member of the Australian GBIF node. Martin won a shared first prize in the GBIF Ebbe Nielsen Challenge 2025.
