Quality assurance and facilitation of species data at the faculty of Environmental Sciences and Natural Resource Management, NMBU, for publication in GBIF and Artskart

The Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Natural Resource Management (MINA) at The Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) received a data mobilization grant from GBIF Norway in 2019 for preparation and publication of primary biodiversity data. This was a continuation of the data mobilization and development of a data management plan for research data produced at NMBU MINA, from the previous period in 2018.

All locations and scientific names (species and family or genus if applicable) are checked according to GBIF and five datasets are published on GBIF, and each dataset has a metadata file explaining sampling methods. In addition, six more datasets are ready to publish on GBIF. All datasets will be available at NMBU’s data archive.

At present, we are working with two new datasets (12-13). All datasets that are ready to publish will be submitted at the GBIF helpdesk with this report.

Project participants so far: Mahdieh Tourani, Ruben Erik Roos, Ross Wetherbee, Ole Wiggo Røstad, Anne Sverdrup-Thygeson, and Tone Birkemoe at NMBU MINA.
